- Since the Treaty of Lisbon, OLP has become the default procedure and expanded tot he vast majority of policy areas

- No subsidiarity concerns raised by national parliaments (deadline 19 Nov 2021)
- The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted its opinion on 8 Dec 2021
- Rapporteur (MEP responsible for handling proposal) produced draft report in Jan 2022 and EP committee (IMCO) adopted its report April 2022
- Co-legislators (EP and Council) reach a provisional agreement at second trilogue meeting in June 2022
- Text adopted by EP on 4th October and by the Council on 24 October
- MS have 12 months to transpose the provision of the directive and are required to apply those laws from 12 months following that
