Wu-Wei
(Non-action)
- Acting without effort, acting in harmony with the Tao and the flow of life. Wu Wei is to act not morally nor immorally, but to act amorally as intended by nature.
Alchemy
- The return of the spirit to the Tao
Waidan
(External Alchemy)
- Creating potions and elixirs mixing minerals and herbs to "heal" the physical self, to bring closer to the Tao, trying to change nature to align with the self
Neidan
(Internal Alchemy)
- Refining internal energies through mediation, yoga, and breathing exercises, trying to change oneself to align with nature
Energy
Ch'i
(Breath)
- The life force which flows through all living beings that connects everything back to the Tao. With a balanced ch'i, you will be one with the Tao.

- Believed that salvation comes from living in harmony with the Tao rather than through control or force. Emphasized simplicity, balance, humility, and effortless action
