Brain development
Myelination is the process by which axons of neurons are coated with a fatty sheath called myelin, which speeds up the transmission of electrical signals in the nervous system.
Synaptic Pruning: Where the brain eliminates unnecessary or weak connection between nerve cells

-The last area of the brain to finally mature happens in the mid-20s, causing risky behavior.

The motivation, pleasure, ! and reniforcement of the brain
Identity Formation:
Erikson: Teens seek a clear sense of identity or feel confused.
Marcia: Teens may be unsure, follow others, explore, or find their own identity.
Diffusion: “I don’t know what I want to be yet.”
Foreclosure: “I’m doing what my parents want.”
Moratorium: “I’m still figuring out who I am.”
Achievement: “I’ve decided who I want to be.”
Emerging Adulthood
The stage from about 18–25 when people explore who they are and become independent.
Identity exploration: Trying out different careers, relationships, and lifestyles.
Instability: Frequent changes in jobs, housing, or plans.
Connections to Me
I’ve noticed some friends are in the moratorium stage they’re still figuring out what they want to do after high school.
I relate to identity exploration in emerging adulthood because I’m still discovering what interests and career paths fit me best.
