Instruction
Ask learners to use the reading strategies learnt in earlier lessons and read the text “The Lady Bug Garden”. Then, ask learners to discuss and explore and write what they have understood from a short story- (learners can carry out activity individually).

Instruction
The video explains the five elements of a short story—plot, setting, characters, conflict, and theme—and demonstrates how to diagram a plot from exposition to resolution. It concludes with a plot diagram and follow-up activity to enhance understanding.

Log in to Nearpod, create or edit your lesson, and insert a Matching Pairs activity.
Enter the story elements in one column and their definitions/examples in the other, adding images if desired for clarity.
Launch the activity for your students, guide them as they match the pairs, and monitor their responses in real time to provide feedback.
