Nurse- The progression route for becoming a nurse you would need to make sure that you have 4 or 5 GCSEs grades 9 to 4 (A to C) or have 2 or 3 A levels including science, or level 3 diploma or access to higher education in health, science or nursing. If you already have a degree in either a health related subject, psychology, life science or social work you would be able to go to full time college course for usually 3 years after this you are able to get this job through a university course or an apprenticeship.

Nursery teacher- The progression route for becoming a Nursery teacher is by doing a college course but you have to make sure that the course includes childcare and early years education and care- early years educator the entry requirements foe this course vary needing 4 or 5 GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (A to C) or equivalent, including English and math for a T level. For an apprenticeship you could apply to do an Early years practitioner level 2 intermediate apprenticeship, or an early years educator level 3 advanced apprenticeship, these take between 1 and 2 years to complete and combine training on the job with time spent with a learning provider. the entry requirements for this is usually some GCSEs, including math and English, or equivalent, for an intermediate apprenticeship or 5 GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (A to C) or equivalent, including English and math, for an advanced apprenticeship. you can work as a nursery assistant and learn on the job. you usually need GCSEs in math's and English to start. your employer may offer you the opportunity to do formal training like an apprenticeship, as your skills develop. you could also get experience by volunteering at a local nursery group or after school club. this may lead to paid work, where you could do the training for the job. you can apply directly for jobs in a nursery if you've got experience of working with young children and a qualification in childcare. social worker- some of the progression routes to becoming a social worker are doing a university course or an apprenticeship or you can also use a graduate training scheme. You could do a degree in social working approved by social working in England, you could also do a postgraduate degree in social work, if you have a degree in another subject.
