Activity:
Learners will create their Worm farm in a jar, to observe live worms in their habitat, (Homeschool Arcade, 2020).
Skills and Values:
When making the worm farm, learner will have to measure the content, investigate what is happening inside and learn to take responsibility for nature.
Key concept:
Earthworms play a very important roll in losing the soil that helps plants grow
Bees and Pollination
Key concept
: Bees collect nectar and plays an important role in pollination that helps plants grow.
Activity:
Learners explore outside, observing flowers, and make use of paintbrushes to illustrate pollination.
Skills and Values:
Learners will develop their observing skills, predicting and learn caring for living things.
Social Science:
Animals that helps people
Activity:
Allow learners to compare images of old ox wagons and todays tractors, allowing discussion about changes over time. (sahistory.org.za, n.d.)
Skills and Values:
Teaches learners about cause and effect, how we have adapted, and that we can learn from history.
Key concept
: Show how people and animals can work together in farming, and transport.
Guide dogs and community helpers
Activity:
Allow learners to take turns leading another student through a small maze in the classroom, as if one is a guided dog and the other learner is blind (blind folded)
Skills and Values:
Teach learners about empathy and social responsibility

: Show how animals can support people with disabilities and health issues. (Twinkl South Africa, 2024)
Technology:
Tools people can use to care for animals

Technology can help people feed and protect animals
Activity:
Learners will use clay to make a simple dog bowl

Learners design, fine motor skills and evaluating skills will be developed

allow each learner to make their own butter, by shaking cream and discussing the process. (butter, 2024)
