Natural Science
Cows
Concept 1
How do people get milk from cows?
Cows eat grass and drink lots of water to stay healthy. The food they eat helps their bodies make milk inside their udders. Farmers milk the cows either by hand or with special machines. The milk is then stored in a clean cold place
(Kiddle Encyclopedia, 2024).
Activity- Tasting dairy products: milk, cheese, cream, butter
Bees
Concept 1: How do bees help nature and people ? Bees help flowers by carrying yellow dust called pollen from one flower to another. When the pollen moves, it helps the flowers make seeds and fruit. This is called pollination, and it helps plants grow food for people and animals (Kiddle Encyclopedia, 2024).
Activity
Learners use cotton buds or small paintbrushes to move “pollen” (coloured powder or chalk dust) from one paper flower to another to see how pollination works.

Social Science
Cows
Social Science (History) Concept:
People long ago used cows for milk, meat, leather, and to help with farming. Cows were part of family life and were seen as a sign of wealth and importance.
Activity:
Learners look at two pictures ,one showing a farmer with cows long ago and one showing a modern dairy farm today. They draw both scenes and label them “Then” and “Now” to show how people used cows in the past and how we use them today.
Chickens
Social Science (History) Concept:
People have kept chickens for hundreds of years for their eggs, meat, and feathers. In the past, families kept chickens in their yards and used eggs for food or to sell. Today, chickens are also farmed on large farms using machines to collect eggs and feed them.
Activity:
Learners look at two pictures, one of a family keeping chickens at home long ago and one of a modern chicken farm today. They draw and label the two pictures “Long ago” and “Today”, showing how people cared for and used chickens in different times.
Technology
Cows
Technology Concept (Cows)
Cows are important in technology because people use special tools and machines to help collect, process, store and package milk safely and efficiently. Modern dairy technologies such as milking machines, refrigeration, pasteurisation and packaging systems make it possible for milk to become many different products like butter, cheese and yogurt and reach people’s homes.
Activity
Watch YouTube Video first:
https://youtu.be/e1LYWF8T8g0
Learners make butter by shaking cream in a jar, just like in the video. They observe how the cream changes into butter and buttermilk, then talk about how farmers and factories use machines to do the same job.
Dogs
Concept (Service Dogs)
People use special training methods and tools to teach dogs how to help humans. This shows how technology and human design are used to solve real-life problems, like helping people who cannot see or hear.
Activity
Learners design a simple poster or drawing showing the tools that guide dogs use — such as a harness, leash, or badge — and label how each tool helps the dog do its job safely.
