Learners learn that Technology is not only about computers and robots but involve everyday inventions, example would be learners will look at a video and explain what a dog harness needs to be used for a guide dog.
Learners watch a short video that shows how to make a harness, they then divide into groups of 3 and plan a design to make when using recycled materials that is given by the teachers such as cardboard box, string, glue, scissors, pipe cleaners, hole puncher.
Make
Make is used to solve problems that the learners may have. They make use of the knowledge that they have (a guide dog, stuffed animal, does not have a harness) and design an idea they have to solve the problem and now they make the design.
Learners use the design picture to make the harness so that it fits the stuffed animal and does not break when it is tugged gently.

Learners learn how the body needs energy and it comes in the form of food and so do dogs, and how energy is used to complete a command.
Learners observe a short video of a guide dog doing basic training like, sitting, running, standing, laying down, and after the video they copy the movement and say what used more energy when completing the task example running vs standing.
Learners learn how a guide dog needs food water and care to stay healthy and strong to be able to help its owner. This helps learners understand how a living thing like a dog depends on humans and the environment to survive
Learners work in groups of 3-4. Each group gets a stack of keycards that they need to sort in categories of what a dog needs to survive.
Example of the keycards can be: NEEDS - Bed, water, toys, sunlight, food, collar... Not NEEDED - Sweets, phone, shoes, earphones, cooldrink, glasses.

Relationship and Interdependence
Learners will learn the importance of having a strong and trusting relationship between the guide dog and the owner.
Learners are paired into groups of 2. One learner will be blindfolded that will play the role of the owner while the other learner guides the owner around the obstacle course inside of the classroom, each learner will get the opportunity to play the owner
Learners will learn guide dogs get training to be qualified to be able to help people with disabilities.
Learners watch a short video of a guide dog training and each learner explain what new skills they learned and what surprised them most about the training process
