Show learners pictures of different cows, ask open-ended questions like: "What do you notice about this cows?" "How are these cows different?"
Let the learners look closely at the cows' horns, colour, size and patterns.
Encourage the learners to sort the cows based on their characteristics like: colour, size, and purpose.
Guide the learners to describe what they have observed.

They were valued for providing milk used to make butter and sour milk and for their meat, which served as an important food source. The cow skin were used to make clothing, mats abd other useful items, (ChatGPT,2025).

Technology
Farm tools and machines for cows.
Activity name: Design your own milking machine- the learners will design a milking machine after i have shown them a real picture/video of a milking machine. i will explain that milking machines helps farmers to collect milk from cows safely and quickly.
Farm tools and machines are equipment that farmers use to help take care of cows more easily and safely. They make farming more faster, safer and more efficient (South African Agricultural Research, 2023)
Cattle Tracking and health monitoring technology
Farmers use technology to monitor cow's health and location, like ID tags or sensors (South african Agricultural Research, 2023).
Activity name: Build your own cow tracker
