Activity : I will create a Timeline across the classroom carpet.
On one side of the carpet, I will place pictures of working animals from the past, such as horse-drawn carriages, ox-ploughs and donkey carts. On the other side of the carpet, I will place pictures and props of modern-day helper animals, such as police dogs, service dogs and African giant-pouched rats (APOPO - Training Animals to rid the world of landmines and tuberculosis, 2021). Learners will then walk along the timeline and act out how the animals were used in each time period.
