Concept: Bees are extremely important for farms and food production because they act as pollinators. Pollination is the process where bees move pollen from one flower to another, which helps plants make fruits, seeds, and vegetables. Without bees, many of the foods we eat—such as apples, berries, squash, nuts, and many other fruits and vegetables—would have much lower yields or might not grow well at all (Parlee Farms, Overview of Bee Pollination, 2021)
