Animals and creatures that help us. - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Exploring Materials and tools, Farmers use feeders , waterers, shears, as well as equipment and machinery to assist in the proper maintenance of their animals. The equipment provides the sheep, chickens and other animals with food ,water and comfort at all times.
      - The learners can go on an excursion to a Stock farm where they can explore more about how and what machinery and tools are used to take care of chickens and feed them. They will need to draw and label the tools they think are important and needed for taking good care of chickens.
    - - Investigate-Exploring the structures of animal homes. different types of animal shelters. Bees live in hives, chickens are kept in coops and Cows and sheep are usually housed in barns or sheds. (FAO, 2021; RSPCA, 2022)
      - The learners can go to the chicken coops outside in the back area of the school and explore and investigate the chicken coops and in groups they can create a design of their chicken coops that will protect the chickens against harsh weather.
- - - - Ants improves soil, ladybugs eat pests, Butterflies and bees spread pollen that help plants reproduce. Plants need to reproduce in order to generate new generations and thus continue their species BBC Bitesize( 2023).
      - For our activity we will explore the school garden to look for insects to learn and observe how they interact within our environment, we will use a magnifying glass to help us get a close look and mark off on out observation sheet what insects we came across and how the help our environment.
    - - For our activity we will discuss how humans help animals stay healthy and what their needs are. We will then list everything from the foods they need to eat to the shelters they need. next we will go and visit the chicken coops behind the school, we will feed the chickens, clean their coops give them clean water, we will compare our basic human need to that of a chicken, count all the male chickens and female chickens as well as count how many chickens are the same colour to compile a graph of our findings.
      - Describe the animals that help us? Cows-Strong, Sheep-fluffy, Chickens grow quickly and bees -small. Chickens are able to produce eggs day and night and grow quickly, and so can be utilized in egg and meat production, while bees have hairy bodies that they use to pollinate plants and create honey RSPCA (2022). Cows and sheep have big, strong bodies that cows use to produce milk and meat, and sheep use to grow thick wool for clothes and other products FAO (2021).
