Activity: Do a senses investigation. A teacher will set up 3 different stations, a hearing, sight and smell station (Chat GPT, 06 October 2025). This will help learners know more about animal(dog) features. Learners will then write down their observations and communicate them as a class.

Activity: The learners will have a school trip to the local bee factory to learn about the honey making process. The skills they'll develop are observing as they'll get the opportunity of touching the honeycomb, also communicating as they will have a discussion about their foundings with the teacher and class after the school trip.

Activity: The learners are to design a bird feeder (Chat GPT, 06 October 2025)). This will help learners develop their critical thinking skills, as they will think about the structure of the bird feeder they'll create and how it'll do the perfect job. The technological skills that will be developed is investigate and design.

Activity: The learners are to make a shelter for their preferred animal in a farm. This activity will help learners develop all the 5 technological skills as they will need to investigate the why they need to create the shelter (what problem do they need to solve), design, make(this will be main focus as we will spend time on this stage), evaluate and communicate.

Service animals (sniffer dogs) (Department of education, 2011)
Activity: Have a guest come to class to help the learners understand more about the dogs the police mean use to catch criminals. The learners would have the opportunity to ask questions. The learners should also be given the opportunity to observe how a sniffer dog is able to find a hidden object by the police mman in the school playground.

Activity: The learners will go on a virtual farm visit (Chat GPT,15 October 2025). With this visit learners will get to know how animals are herded, what is it that is done to take care and rear animals and how the farm environment contributes to this as well.
