Animals and creatures that help us
Natural Science
subtopic 2: Life cycle of a chicken
concept 2: The life cycle of a chicken includes five stages: fertilized egg, egg embryo, chick, pullet, and adult. It takes about 21 days, starting when the hen lays a fertilized egg and ending when the chick hatches (Geeks for Geeks: 2025).
Activity 2: Cutting and sorting the life cycle of a chicken in the correct order.
Activity 1: They can role play the roles of the types of bees in a hive.
subtopic 1: Types of bees and their roles in a hive
concept 1: A Beehive has 3 types of bees. The Queen bee, Drones and Worker bees. The Queen lays eggs, controls the hive and can start a new hive. The Drones mate with new queens and Worker bees do many jobs like cleaning, fixing the hive and protecting the hive (Best Bees: 2022).
Technology
subtopic 2: Pollination
concept 2: When the honeybee lands on a flower, it drinks its sweet nectar with its long snout and collects pollen on its body. Then when it goes to another flower some of the pollen will rub off onto the new flower. This helps the flowers make seeds and the pollination process is complete (Plantura, n.d.).
Activity 2: the learners build a model to simulate how bees pollinate and help plants make seeds.
Dogs and how humans take care of them
Activity 1: The learners can make a variety of dog equipment ranging from leashes, dog bowls, tools like brushes.
Social Science
Activity 1: Learners can discuss where milk comes from and the activity can be about simulating milking a cow using a rubber glove filled with water.
subtopic 2: Dairy farming
Activity 2: discussion about dairy farming. They can draw a picture on the process of milk
Milk is carried in large tankers from farms to dairies, where it is pasteurised, packaged, and then delivered to stores. Commercial dairy farmers supply their milk to processing factories, which produce dairy products and distribute them to shops for consumers to purchase ( Dairy Kids, n.d.)
subtopic 1: Cows and their roles in helping humans
Cattle are farm animals raised for livestock and hold significant economic importance in many countries. Their meat, known as beef—or veal when from younger animals—is widely consumed. Their milk is used for drinking and to produce dairy products like butter, cheese, and yogurt, while their hides are processed into leather (Brittanica Kids, n.d.)
