Often have a religious foundation and violations has consequences

Direct behavior in day-to-day practices often seen as traditions
Subculture
Smaller cultural group within a larger group
Smaller group shares specific identity with larger groups
Counterculture
Rejects some of the larger culter's norms.
Counter cultures actively defy larger society by developing their own norms.

Time that passes between introduction and acceptance.
Causes tangible problems . Values are hard to change. Creates disconnect between people and their cultures.
Globalization
Promotion and increase of interaction with populations globally.
Results in intergration of markets and interdependence through trade.

Pattern of experiences and attitudes in mainstream society.
Pop culture is a ccessible by most and spreads by media outlets.
