Sentence 2:
The learners will develop their designing and making skills to help show them how natural materials can be used to create everyday items(Department of Basic Education (DBE), 2011. Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement: Natural Sciences and Technology Foundation Phase. Pretoria:DBE
Subtopic 1:
Products produced by Bees.
Key Concept 1: Product design and natural materials.
Activity 1: Learners construct a model beehive from cardboard or clay.
Sentence 1: By fostering creativity and problem-solving in the creation of practical products, these activities enhance fine motor skills and design thinking (CAPS, DBE, 2011).
Social Scien
Subtopic 1: Bees in Our Community
Key Concept 1: Community helpers and Economic contribution.
Activity 1: Learners talk about how nearby farmers and beekeepers help to supply food.

Activity 2:
The learners will look at pictures of
beekeepers and discuss how bees help people by providing beeswax and honey that can be sold for income.
Sentence 2:
The learners will get an understanding of relationships between people and the environment. The will have an understanding that bees and their products support communities and jobs(DBE, 2011. CAPS: Social Sciences Foundation Phase. Pretoria: DBE.
