Baddeley 1975 - evidence to show acoustic and semantic memory stores are different - acoustic did better in stm and semantic did well in both but better in ltm espeically in trials 3-5

HM and clive wearing unable to rehearse memories so could not move memories from stm to ltm proving two seperate stores
Limitations
Chunks not well evidenced - baddeley used variety of length words which shouldn't matter because being chunked but proved that the longer the words are the less chunks that can be remembered

Helping to come up with therapies to improve memories based around rehearsal and isolating environmental input so better chance of it going into sensory memory
Revision applications in schools - can aid school curriculum coming up with strategies for improving memory
