- - - - Classroom activity: show learners a video of different insect homes like nest and beehives and discuss the purpose of each structure of their home example for protection, temperature control and storage. Provide the learners with materials to create a model of an insect home once the learners have built a model explain to them how humans can use the same ideas in building structures like the insects honeycomb a strong and lightweight structure.
- - - - Classroom activity: show a video of ants carrying crumbs, give learners bag of crumbs and work in groups and role-play as ants carrying the crumbs to the next box (nests). Afterwards use that as a lesson to discuss how ants work together in a team to collect food and take it to their nests.
