Population Ecology
Eduardo Almazán
Population Density
meaning: number of organisms in an area
example: 50 buffalo per km²
shows how many live there
Distribution (Dispersion)
how animals are spread
uniform → same space (bear)
clumped → in groups (bison)
random → no order (deer)
depends on food, water, space
Growth
more births = grows
more deaths = goes down
not always the same
Examples
Black Bear= uniform
Bison= clumped
White-tailed Deer= random
Conclusion
: I learned that population is not only how many animals there are but also how they live in space and grow.
