Definition
Energy from sources that will not run out because they are naturally replenished on a human timescale, such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, tidal, geothermal, and biofuels.
Disadvantages
Solar
Limited availability of sun in some areas, very high set-up costs, cannot generate energy without sun e.g. cloudy days or night time,Limited storage capacity,Can take up large amounts of lane
Geothermal
Location has to be very specific,can cause small earthquakes,High set-up costs, only sustainable if the underground reservoirs are maintained properly
Wind
It need reliable wind speeds,electricity storage issues can be very noisy,largest turbines cant produce energy for that many homes so many would be needed for a town.
HEP
Specific site requirements, High cost of building dam and infastructure, Requires a large area and could involve relocating people,Dam effects seasonal floodings which could cause wildfires, Relies on rain/snow melting, droughts mean no electricity.

The suns energy is free, Renewable as long as there is sun, no noise or air pollution, little maintenance needed once set up,Easy to install whether that is individual for homes or solar farms,can be used in remote areas away from national electricity
Geothermal
Replenished by nature, Good for heating and cooling individual houses, Partially built underground to avoid surface impact,Renewable and constant supply,very low carbon emissions
Wind
wind is free,Once built no air pollution,Although tall they dont take up much landand the surface below can still be used for farming,Useful in both MEDCs and LEDCs because cost can vary
HEP
No issues with pollution,Reliable once built, Have long lasting life Provides drinking water, fishing,boating, and other things like tourism, it can respond to supply and demand quickly and it can control flooding downstream
