Ancient Egypt
Religion - The egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses, and sometimes it is difficult to work out who was who. Many gods represented animals and other creatures. Each of the 42 different administrative districts " or nomes" had its own god, and there were many others besides. overall, the sun god and they are polytheistic because they believe in many god and goddesses.

Government - Pharaohs was the king he was the most powerful and important man in egypt - he was thought to be a god. in Egypt there was an effective system of training a prince become an pharoah, which included training him to become and expert sportsman and potential war leader. The pharaoh holds the record for the longest monarch. Pharaoh would wear hats with creatures on there head and it symbols that they had power.

Art - an example is the gold in Egypt could be molded into different shapes. the jewelers in egypt were able to get many different stones from the desert trade routes brought rare gems to the region such as lazuli

Writing -Scribes had to to be experts in writing hieroglyphs an elaborate form of picture- writing with about 700 different signs it was very hard so not a lot of people could master it. it could be written right, to left, or top to bottom.for business contracts, letters, and stories, scribes, used a different form of writing. fast written version of hierography , always running from right to left.Later on an even more rapid script evolved, called demotic. it wa often used for legal documentation

Architure - The first pyramid they built was for the burial place of king Djoser in c. 2650 BCE, by his gifted architects imhotep. The pyramid rose in six stages and is called the step pyramid. it was supposed to represent a gigantic stairway for the king to climb to join the sun god in the sky. The idea of this pyramid was to recreate the mound that had emerged out of the watery ground at the beginning of the time, on which the sun god and goddesses into being.

Location- in the text it said that the people of the egypt lived along the nile, where they expected floods to fertilize the land. The egyptians also lived on the canals extending from the nile. This area was called the " Black Land" which was named after the dark silt that helped the farmers grow their crops. ( Hart 8)
Ancient China
Technology - on page: 22 it says "some of the worlds greatest inventions came from China" Many emperors developed science and technology. In the middle ages many Chinese Inventions were carried along the silk road to europe. Paper and printing dramatically improved communication. They also invented gunpowder which meant they would do better in fights and wars.
Art- "China has always been renowned for its exquisite arts and crafts in imperial china, luxury goods foredd the major export commodities - Chinese bronze, Jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prized in Asia and Europe.The government factories manned by skilled artisans who applied their crafts to different stages of manufacturing processes unlike merchant who sold their handiwork. (Cotterell 6)
Government - In 221 B.C. the chinese empire was formed the qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies. The empire took its first emperor he seem to think that he was immortal. be built an impressive tomb guarded by thousand of life size terra cotta warriors he thought he would remain the strongest man in the afterlife.
Religion -"Confucius believed that the early years of the zhou dynasty were golden years of harmony". one quote from Confucius was let the prince be a prince, the minister a minister, the father a father, and the son bea son. Confucius encouraged ancestors worship because it strengthened family loyalties (Cotterell 12)
Location- On page 40 it said "China was painted with walled towns and cities" countryside communities were centers of government and the power of the Authorities was reinforced by town planning. The towns were built on a grid and divided into sections called wards. Wealthy Government officials lived at one end of the towns or cities And the poor at the other end. (Cotterell 40)
commerce (trade) - The silk road, The silk road is a trade route where people can go trade china was permitted to trade in 1279-1368. The silk road stretched from northern china across Asia. International trade thrived because caravans could travel without danger. Chinese merchants amassed large fortunes by exporting luxury goods such as silk, Spices, Teas, porcelain, and lacquerware.(Cotterell 58)
Writing- on page 11 it said " shang kings use oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits" in order to find out answers to questions, the ox bones or tortoiseshells was schorchede until it cracked. finally, the answers were inscribed on the oracle bones. (Cotterell 11)
