Ancient China
Commerce (Trade) Trade first became a thing in the Mongol, and Yuan dynasty. This was from 1279-1368. At this time all merchants were able to freely trade. The text says that the empire did control the silk road at the time. (Cotterell 58)
Government: China's first empire started in 221 B.C. They were lead by Zheng. Zheng was the first emperor of this empire. The text says that his name was originally Qin but he changed it. (Cottell 16)
Religion: In china it was believed that they were divided into 3 ways. The 3 ways were Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. In the text it states that china is very tolerant of all religions. (Cotterell 26)
Technology:In the text it states that in china they invented paper, printing, and books. Cai Lun successfully created paper. Paper was created from silk rags. Later it was made by bamboo, hemp, and mulberry bark. (Cotterell 24)
Art: China has lots of luxury crafts made from bronze, Jade, Sillk, and lacquer. But chinese rulers controlled the supply of raw materials and ran factory's instead.They also created tools and weapons.(Cotterell 56)
Writing: An exsample of writing isis the Oracle bone, which was used by Shang Kings. Individuals would burn the Oracle bone, it would rack, and answer questions about their ancestors. These were created from Ox bone or tortoise shells. (Cotterell 11)
Location : China is one of the world oldest continuous civilizations. China started in 221 B.C, to A.D. 1912.There are various mountain ranges and deserts from other cultures such as India, West Asia, and Europe. (Cotterell 6)
