Mesopotamia
Religion: According to the text, the Ancient Mesopotamians were polytheistic. Which is the belief in multiple gods or goddesses. Also, the text states that, "The Sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses." (Steele 14)
Architecture: In the text it said that ziggurats were the most important piece of architecture. Also, in the text it stated that, "It represented a mountain, stretching from the earth to the heavens." Finally, the text explains that they were used for worship of their God or goddess. (Steele 24)
Government: The Sumerians had a form of government called city states. Also the text states, "The cities controlled the surrounding countryside and became small states with rulers and nobles, palaces and temples." Finally the Sumerians were at war with each other's city states. (Steele 8)
Art: In the text it Said that the Ancient Mesopotamians had many different arts and crafts. The text states Also, in the text the Ancient Mesopotamians had things like jewelry, pots, and painted bricks. Finally, the Ancient Mesopotamians had some of the first art known to exist. (Steele 28)
Writing: In the text the Ancient Mesopotamians had one of the earliest forms of writing. Cuneiform was their style of writing. According to the text, " The Sumerians devised the world's first script or writing system." (Steele 12)
Location: In the text it said that in the Middle East, two great rivers flowed south. Also, the text states that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq." today, much of the area consists of hot deserts, but in the past, the land was fertile. (Steele 6)

Ancient China
Government: An example of a government is feudalism. In ancient China some of the population believed in feudalism. The idea was that the emperor would divide up the land and each noble would be in charge of some land. But the nobles would fight and overthrow one another. (Cotterell 6)
Technology: An example of Technology is the Wheelbarrow. The Wheelbarrow is an example of technology because it allows people to move things around faster. Also it would allow for food to be transported so there could be a larger population. (Cotterell 22)
Religion: An example of religion was during the early stages of the Zhou dynasty, Confucius believed that those were the best years of social harmony. He also believed that people should be kind, respectful, and rely on the strength of the family. Finally, his famous sayings even became his own religion in Asia. (Cotterell 12)
Location: In the text it said, ancient China's first empire was the Qin empire. After the Qin empire, many other empires came after. Also, the great wall kept ancient Chinese from neighboring countries. (Cotterell 6)
Art: An example of art in ancient China was their sculpting with teapots and decorative ornaments. They also made bronze statues covered in gold flakes made with bronze. Finally, they formed some of the earliest pottery. (Cotterell 56)
Writing: An example of writing is the oracle bone which was used by Shang kings. Individuals would burn the oracle bone, it would crack, and answer questions about their ancestors. These were created from an ox bone or a tortoise shell. (Cotterell 11)
(Commerce) Trade: An example of trade is the silk road. Most of Asia's trade ran through the silk road, which ran through numerous parts of Asia. Some of the trade items along the silk road were: porcelain, silk, jade, coins, and silver. (Cotterell 58)
