Ancient Civilizations
Mesopotamia
Location: On page 6 it said, that Mesopotamia is located in what is today Iraq =, Syria, Turkey and Iran. According to the Greeks Mesopotamia means " Between the rivers. " Also, the text states that Mesopotamia included cooler mountainous regions in the north and reed-filled wetlands in the southeast." (Steele 6)
Religon:On page 26 it said The sumerians were great lovers of poetry art and music. It also said "Music played on state occasions or in temples for the glory of their gods." It also says The sumerians loved to have fun and there children loved to swim in rivers during hot summer days. (Steele 26)
Architecture: On page #24 it said a lasting symbol of architecture.Which is the ziggurat a massive platform of mud and brick. Also On page #24 it said "The ziggurats themselves had small temples or shrines on top, reached with massive stairways. Also on page #24 it sia that ziggurats where started getting built in the early 500's BC.(Steele 24)
Government: On page 10-11 it says the word sumerians would mean it's their territory." Lands of the civilized lords." The civil vase was made for the son of warrior king of eannatum. There was also a limestone head.(of rock) which was carved by lion designs.(Steele 10-11)
Art: On page 28 it said the Mesopotamians mastered molding clay into pots by the eighth millennium BCE. A little bit before 3500 BCE they made the potters wheel which made pottery more efficient. The vessels were shaped by expert potters on the rotating wheel, then fired in dome shaped kilns. (Steele 28)
Writing:On page number 12 it states that "Early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records." It also states that even though they did not need written records the cities arose and communication became a key. It also states that these were pressed into a soft clay with a stylus, leaving a wedge shaped mark that was then hardened. (Steele 12)
Ancient Egypt
Location: On page 8 it said that Egyptians live mainly on the banks of the Nile but also along the canals extending from it. Over 90% of Egypt consists of the dessert. Which they called (The red land). Every year the Nile would flood leaving behind a rich silit on the farmland. ( Hart 8)
Government: on page 12 it said Some people won a high ability of the government just by being the scribes. It also says that the kind of ancient Egypt of the that time would be able to sit in a royal throne. Page 12 also says the pharaohs used the best quailty of vases just to make sure the Pharaohs had the best of everything. (Hart 12)
Religion: on page 24 it says They worshiped many gods and they were polytheistic. It has also said it has 42 different administative districts which everyone having there own God. Also it said when the parorh government went down milltary trips the only person they trusted was there God.

Archlitecture: On page 20 it says the first pyramid was built just for the burial of King Dojser. It also says It rose in six stages and was called the step pyramid. It also says its purpose for the high steps was for him to see the sun god.

Writing: on page 34 it says scribes had to be experts in writing and they had to make it hard to make them only be able to write the language. It also states They could be written from left to right right to left or even top to bottom. It also says scribes when writing letters or stories they had to use a diffrent piece of writing. (Hart 34)
Art: On page 56 it said that gold was everywhere in Jersey and even if there wasn't there was at least a hint. It also says the gold was beaten into shape to fit the necklace. It also says trades from Afghanistan made jerly the type that it was. (Hart 56)
Ancient China
Government: On page (18) The earliest members of the imperial civil service were recruited by Gaozu. Gaozu led a big peasant army that was able to overthrow the Qin dynasty. Gaozu got scholars for schools and administartors.
Commors(trade): (On page 58) Trade Flourished under the Mongol's, or Yuan's dynasty. The Mongol emperors ruled china from 1279 to 1368 and made merchants to trade freely throughout their empire. International trade thrived because caravans could travel without any danger. (58 Cotterrell)
Writing: Page (11) The Shang kings used Oracle Bones to consult the ancestral spirits on important matters. An Ox bone or tortoiseshell was scorched until it cracked. The cracks were the read to discover the answer to a question put to the ancestors. Often the questions and answers were inscribed on the Oracle bone.(11 Cotterrell)
Technolgy: (24) Many of the world's greatest inventions came from china. Throughout the time in Imperial china governments encouraged science and technolgy. During the time most of the Inventions from china was carried away on the silk road for trade.
Location:(40) The location of china was made and dotted with walls making china walled in. These urban areas that were walled in were citys with high ranked officials. Towns and citys were bulit on a grid system and divided into sections.
Religion:(46) The clothes for the rich and poor were very different throughout the world. Peasant farmers wore loose garments with hemp a rough fabric woven from plant fibers. Wealthy ladies in the imperial court high ranked officials wore robes with fine silk.
Art: (On page 56) China has always Been known for its arts and crafts. In Imperial China luxury goods, formed the major export commodities- Chinese Bronze, silk, gold, sliver, and jade. The government ran skilled artist factories that were manned by skilled artists.
Indus river Valley
Writing: First India's writing is still a mystery for the technology that we have we can't understand the writing. Also, over 400 symbols from ancient India has been discovered. Last most symbols has been found on seals, pots and other materials. (Source:
