government - on page 8 it said cities controlled the surrounding countryside. They became small states with rulers and nobles. The region was dominated by city-states, each built around a temple. '
religion- in the text it said "they believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were the cows of Sin or Nanna." Inanna was the goddess of love and war. the Sumerians also believed in spirits and ghosts.

Writing, in the text it said early people who lived as hunters did not need written records.they devised the world first writing system. By around 3300 BCE the citizens of Uruk were using about 700 different symbols or pictographs.

art - on page 28 it said they mold clay into simple pots. some time before 3500 BCE they invented the potters wheel. Vessels were shaped by expert potters on the rotating wheel.

architecture on page 24 it says that there is a lasting symbol platform made from bricks. It also looks very similar to the pyramids. They built this at an early age.

goverment: in the text it said "the king was not only the most powerful and important man in Egypt he was thought to be a god." the queen could also be seen as a goodness but was normally given the title of "Great Royal Wife." often the ruling pharaoh would adopt his heir as "co-regent."

Architecture:
In the text it said "the first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser." Many Kings had step pyramids, but King Sneferu created the true pyramid with sloping slides. King Khufu had the largest pyramid named the Great Pyramid of Giza. (Hart 20)
writing: an example is the egyptians wrote using hieroglyphs. They made it very difficult so that others couldn't read it. in the text it said "they could be written from left to right, right to left, top to bottom. (Hart page 34)
art
in the text it said that "the earliest picture of a loom in Egypt is on a pottery bowl dated to c. 3000 BCE and flax was used for thousands of years after this." a pharaoh would also have exceptionally fine linen. they also learned the art of dyeing their clothes in colored patterns from the middle east but the technique was never widely used. (hart 52)

on page 8 it said that Egyptians lives mainly on the banks of the nile but also a long the canals extendings from it. over 90% of Egypt consists of deserts.witch they would flood leaving behind rich silt on the farmlands. (Hart 8)
Religion:
on page 24 it said that the egyptians worship many gods. many of the gods represent animals. a few select priests were involved in the ceremonies. each district had its own god.

On page 10 it said that the first Chinese dynasty to leave a record was the Shang which was in northern China. Their land was fertile land around the yellow river. On page 9 it shows on a map that China is below Mongolia and Russia. The Yellow river and Yangzi river runs through China.
art on page 56 it said that artisans were considered the most important members of society.
China has always been known for its exquisite arts and crafts.
Even though decorative items used sophisticated techniques to make, they were mass produced.

Confuses believed that only kindness and respect should be in the land. He then started to engorge ancestor worship because he thought that it would help family loyalty. Then soon everyone started listening to him.

that the mongol or yuan dynasty controlled the entire length of the silk road. they also permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their vast empire. the silk road is a series of trade routes that ran from northern china to Asia.

On page 16 it says that in 221 B.C. that the Chinese Empire was formed. Zheng was the first Sovereign Qin Emperor. Zheng was emperor from 221 B.C. - 207 B.C. He was a harsh emperor as he used his subjects as slave laborers to build the great wall of China.
technology on page 22 it said
"Throughout its imperial history emperors encouraged the development of science and technology." they made the magnetic compass. they also made the earthquake weathercock If an earthquake was coming the ball would drop in the frogs mouth.

wrighting on page 11 it said
"the king shang kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits." they would use an ox bone or tortoiseshell until it cracked. they would read the cracks to find the answer.
