Religion: (Steele 14) The Sumerians had believed and worshiped many gods including goddesses. The Sumerians had believed that stars traveling across the dark night were cows of Sins or Nanna. The Sumerians had also believed in spirits like ghosts and even demons. 
Architecture: In the text it said that a Ziggurat is a large structure made from bricks. Ziggurats represented a mountain stitching from earth to heaven. Ur's ziggurat was dedicated to the moon god.

government: "The sumerians own name for their territory, ki-en-gir, might have meant land of the civilized lords." also on page 10 it said, "city-state rulers were honored with names like Lord, governor, and king. (Steele 10)
Writing: on page 12 it says people didn't need records. It also said that the sumerians created the first writing system. "At first they used pictures symbols to represent things like fish, cattle, and grain." (Steele 12)
Art:the Mesopotamians mastered many Technologies and crafts at an early point in their history. I know this because on page 28 they were molding clay into simple simple pots by the 8th Millennium. Also on page 28 it says sometimes before 3,500 BCE they invented the Potter's wheel which made Pottery production far more efficient.
Location: On page 6 it said that Mesopotamia is located in what is now Iran, Iraq, turkey, and Syria. According to the Greeks Mesopotamia means between the rivers.also, an example is, "Mesopotamia included cooler mountainous regions in the north and reed filed wetlands in the south."(Steele 6)

Ancient china
Comerese (trade): China was a country who used the silk road to trade valuables with other countries. It was heavily accepted under mongol rule, were the traders were protected by solders. china would export what they made and get what other people made. (cotterell 58)
Government: According to THE BOOK the first dynasty was the Qin dynasty ( Not the XIa). The book also says the first emperor of china was put into power in 221 B.C.. It then says that he was in a tomb surrounded by 1000s of terricoda soldures. (cotterell 16)
Religion: "Confucius believed that the early years of the Zhou dynasty (1027-256 B.C.) were golden years of social harmony." Confucius was a very well
Technology:The Chinese invented many things that are used today such as: printers, paper, paper money, water clocks, silk, gunpowder, fireworks, kites, umbrellas, and wheelbarrows. now the printers weren't as modern as they, are now, we still owe the Chinese for quite a lot of our lives technology. Writing: An example of writing is an oracle bone. Oracle bones was used by the shang kings to discover the answers to there questions. it was often a tortoise shell or ox bone put over a fire and it cracked, then they "read the cracks". (Cotterell pg11)
Location: China is the world's oldest continuous Empire. And it's located between 2 great rivers, The yellow river to the north, and the yangzi river to the south. it was very fertile for this reason.
