art On page 26, I read that art was very important to ancient mesopotamians, I know this because in the text it says " The ancient mesopotamians were great lovers of art, poetry, and music." which means that art was an important part in mesopotamian culture (Steele 26)
architecture On page 24,we read that the ziggurats were built as a sacred temple for the gods. we know this because the text states "ziggurats formed part of sacred precincts, which were thought to be earthly dwelling places for the gods" the ziggurats also had small shrines on top which this states this is a spiritual thing (Steele 24)

writing on page 12, I read that writing started out as a way to view ownership on items, business deals, and government. sumerians were the first to use a system of writing, pictographs was the first writing system, which then evolved into cuneiform. in the text it says "
location on page 6 it said that Mesopotamia is located in what is today Iraq and Syria turkey and Iran. according to the Greeks Mesopotamia means land between two rivers also the text states that Mesopotamia had cooler mountainous region in northern region and reed filled wetlands in the southeast (Steele 6)
