Ancient egypt
Location: On page 8 it said that on both sides of the Nile it would flood leaving the land fertile. desert covered more than 90% of Egypt which was called the "red land." The Egyptians lived along the banks of the Nile, which they called the "black land" after the rich dark silt.

Religion: On page 24 it said that many of the Egyptian gods were represented by animals. And each of the animals represent a certain part of their power. The people of ancient Egypt were polytheistic so they believed in many gods and some were hard to distinguish from one another. (Hart 24)
Architecture: on page 20, it talks about the pyramids. The Great Pyramids of Giza were one of the biggest man made structures without machinery because of how long ago when it was made. The Pyramids were supposed to represent the staircase the king would climb to live with the gods up above and was a symbol of power. (hart 20)
Government:on page 14, it focuses on the pharaoh and its government. The pharaoh controls most everything, like the weather, the sky and what happens to the world because they are on the top of the other people like priests, scribes, soldiers, and ect. because they are treated as gods. The pharaoh has much jewelry and gold as well because they are royals. (Hart 14)

Writing: on page 34, it says that scribes were the main source to their writing most of the time. Scribes were people who had been taught to write at a young age. For the Ancient Egyptians, they wrote mostly in hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics were pictures used as letters. (hart 34)
Ancient China
Religion: An example of religion would be their worship and their ancestors. A man by the name of Confucius encouraged ancestor worship, for as it strengthened family loyalties. And so, many people new and honored Confucius and there was later a religion called Confucianism. ( Cotterell 12)
Commerce (Trade): To put trade in their time in words, they traveled through a road, the Silk road.
Art: An example of art in ancient China was their teacups. They also made bronze statues covered in gold flakes. Finally, they formed some of the earliest forms of pottery. ( cotterell 56)
Government: An example of a government is the Zhou Dynasty. The Zhou dynasty was formed in 1027-256 B.C. During the Zhou Dynasty, It was considered a golden age in the early days. Organized by a fuedile system. ( Cotterll 6)
Location: in the text, it says ancient China's first empire was the qin empire. After the qin empire, many other empires came after. Also the Great wall of China kept Ancient china from neighboring countries. (Cotterell 6)
