Ancient egypt
Location
On page 8 it said that on both sides of the Nile it would flood leaving the land fertile. The desert covers more then 90 percent of Egypt which was called the red land. the Egyptians lived a long the banks of the Niles which they called the "black land" after the rich dark silt. (Hart 8)
Religion
On page 24 it said that many Egyptian gods were represented by animals. they believed in somany God and goddess that they were hard to know who was who.The sun god was the main god in the Egyptian religion. (Hart 24)
Architecture
On page 20 it says "The first pyramid was built as the burial of a king. In the text it says that "The largest pyramid of all is The Great Pyramid of Giza, built for King Khufu in 2589 bce." It also says the pyramids were built to protect the dead pharaohs' bodies. (Hart 20)
Government
On page 12 it says at great state occasions like celebrations lots of important people gather and high priests attend. In the text it says "some of the courtiers were relatives of the king." People often kissed the ground of the king when they approached. (Hart 12)
Art
On page 50 it says that music was very important to them. they would sing and dance every day and drink wine and also play instruments. The princess would play music to her husban while he sits and relaxes.(Hart 50)
Writing
In Egypt the writing System that they made had about 700 different signs. On page 34 it states " They could be written from left to right, right to left, or top to bottom." The text also said that they often used it for legal documents. (Hart 34)
Mesopotamia
Location
On page 6 it said that Mesopotamia lies between two rivers. Also we know that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the border of modern Iraq." The region is called the cradle of civilization. (Steele 6)
Religion
On page 14 it says that they believe in different gods. also they think the stars are gods and nanna is the moon god.And there is a god named Enkithe God of water and wisdom.(Steele 14)
Architecture
On page 24 it said that the ziggurats look like the pyramids. they were used to talking to the gods they were built as early as 5000 bce.The ziggurats was made of straw and mud blocks.

On page 22 it said that akad had been abound by his parents and drifted down stream. then he became the cupbearer. then took over a defeated Uruk,Ur ,Umma and Lagash.

On page 28 it says that they had advanced crafts. And that they have used clay to mold things. They also made the pottery wheel.

On page 12 it said that the sumerians made the first writing in the world. Using pictures and symbols that repersent different things.Over time the marks developed into script. (Steele 12)

Art
They had a lot of different types of art one was their art of war. they had a bull's head chariot It was made out of bronze but detailed with gold and silver.they had a blue dish with a dragon motif that made the song dynasty. they also had a bronze flower vase which was made either the song dynasty or the yuan dynasty. Tecnolgy
On page 22 it said that"Some of the world's greatest inventions came from china. One was the magnetic compass it was an ancient chinese inventions. Also on page 22 it says" Other Chinese Inventions that made the world a different place were paper money, clock work, silk, porcelain, fireworks, kites, umbrellas, and a wheelbarrow.". In conclusion Chinese people created a lot of different inventions.(Ctterell)
Relgion
Confucius was the starter of confuciusims.ON page 12 it stated that"The early years of the Zhou dynasty were golden years of social harmony. In his own lifetime Confusius saw only growing disorder.". He belived that people should be in harmony and peace .(Ctterell)
Government
China's first government started in 221 because they were led by Zhong. Zhong was the first emperor of the empire. The text states his name used to be Qin but he later changed it to Zhong. (cotterell 16)
Location
China had a ton of walled cities and towns. On page 40 It said that "these enclosed urban communities were centers of government and the power of authorities".Also on page 40 it said"The landscape of imperial china was dotted with walled city's and towns.". This shows where the government powers lived and their type of landscape. (Ctterell))

On page 40 it said "The main streets were lined with market stalls that sold all kinds of produce." People would also sell cooked food and non cooked food. Also people would buy special dishes from stallholders and they would take them home to eat with their families. (Cotterell 40)

On page 11 it said"The Shang Kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirts.In order to find out answers to questions, the osx bones or tortoiseshell was scorched unt8ill it cracked.Finally,the answer were inscribed on the orcale bone.(Cotterell)
