Ancient China
Location: On page 6 it says China's civilization is the world's oldest, lasting from 221 B.C. to A.D. 1912. Many mountain ranges and vast deserts separated China from other countries and religions. The establishments were helped by the Han dynasty and helped control the massive population smartly and effectively. (Cotterell 6)
Technology: On page 22 it says some of the world's greatest inventions were made in China and carried along the Silk Road to Europe. Through time, printing and paper expanded and improved for communication reasons. More different Chinese inventions changed the world from a perspective. Cotterell 22)
Government: On page 16 it said it was in 221 B.C. when China was established after the Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and merged the warring states together as one with a leader named Zheng. He seemed like he would be immortal and live forever, so he built life-size terracotta soldiers to guard him in the afterlife. Zheng suppressed anyone who disagreed with him. Zheng used his workers as slave laborers and would soon build the Great Wall. (Cotterell 16)
Commerce (Trade) Under the Mongol and Yuan dynasty, trade thrived. The Mongols ruled China for about 89 years and during that time merchants were allowed to trade freely through their extensive empire. But most of the time, many Mongols ignored Chinese officials, but the merchant social positions really improved. (Cotterell 58)

Art: Common export trades back then from China where luxury goods were traded. As the Shang dynasty went onward, Chinese leaders directed the routes of raw materials. Sooner, many farmers, scholars, and artists were appraised as the most important people in society. (Cotterell 56)
Religion: On page 12 it says Confucius believed the early years of the Zhou dynasty were the golden years. He wanted to believe in a new outlook of respect, kindness rather than lords fighting each other for power. It was a religion that encouraged family bonding as well as ambitious people in return to respect their leaders. (Cotterell 12)
Writing: On page 11 it said " the Shang kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits on important matters." The people would use ox bone or tortoiseshell , scorching until it cracks. They would read the cracks to find the answer, ultimately inscribing it on the bone. (Cotterell 11)

Religion: In the paragraph, it says that the ancient Aryans sacred writing was called Vedas, and they were mostly religious texts and victories that the Aryans won when they invaded the country India. The religion of the Aryans was known as Brahmanism, and it was polytheistic and they were heavily influenced, and they developed Hinduism. Both religions have a lot in common and share many of the same rituals.
