Mesopotamia
Location: An example is Mesopotamia was located between two rivers. "Most of Ancient Mesopotamia lays within the border of modern Iraq." During antiquity the soil around the rivers was very fertile. (Steele 6)
Religion: Mesopotamian religion was a polytheistic system where people worshipped a vast pantheon of gods and goddesses, including major figures like Enlil, Enki, and Ishtar. (Steel 30)
Architecture:An example is Mesopotamia made temples called ziggurats. Also I know they used the ziggurats to give the gods goods. Lastly they made the ziggurats out of mud and straw mixed together. (steele 24)
Government: Mesopotamian government evolved from decentralized, independent city-states to larger, more unified empires, typically ruled by a monarchy with the king considered a divinely chosen steward (steele 36)
Art: Mesopotamian art was created from the 4th millennium BCE to the 6th century BCE, serving religious, political, and personal functions, and is characterized by durable sculptures and reliefs, cylinder seals, and large-scale architecture like temples and palaces. Key artistic features include narrative imagery, stylized human and animal forms, symbolism, and the use of materials like clay, stone, and metal. Major works include cylinder seals, votive statuettes, monumental Assyrian reliefs, and structures like ziggurats. (steele 42)
Writing: An example is that Mesopotamia used soft clay and wooden sticks to draw on the clay. Also, I know that they let the clay sit out and when the clay dried there was writing. Lastly, they used the clay to put records down for hunting. (Steele 12)

religion: In the text it said, Confucius was a great man that believed that that the early years of Zhou dynasty were the world should be based on kindness and not on turmoil. He knew that force should be the last resort if nothing was fixed

Comers/Trade: In the text it says that the silk road started in China and reached into Istanbul. This was a large trade route for China trading many different goods. They also imported items for themselves to use. (cotterell 58)
Government: The text also states that the first emperor of china was called Zheng. He boasted over his won wars and showed that he was far superior. He often treated his people as saves and made them work for him. (Cotterell 16)
