Mesopotamia
Religion: an example is " They worshiped many gods and goddesses. They believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were the cows of sin or Nana, the horned Moon god. They believed that the world floated on an ocean of fresh water,called Apsu." (Steele 14)
Government: In the text, it says that they have a lord governor as well as a king. The text says "The reins of each dynasty were recorded on clay tablets." The text is saying that everybody was going to the military except women. (Steele 10)
Architecture: one example is " A lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia is the Ziggurat, a massive terraced platform made of brick.It represented a mountain, stretching from earth to the heavens.The word Ziggurats looked similar to the stepped pyramids of ancient Egypt , Wich were used as royal tombs,but they served a different purpace. 5000 BCE, bt the great age of Ziggurat building began in the reign of ur-Nammu." (Steele 24)
Location: an example is mesopotamia was located between two rivers. Also,I know that "most of Ancient mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern iraq." During antiquity the soil around the rivers was very fertile. (Steele 6)
Writing:one example is "Early people who lives as hunters and nomads did not need to wright these records. As the first city's arose, people began to require records of ownership, business deals,and government.the sumerians devised the worlds first script or writing system. (Steele 12)
Ancient Egypt
Location:An example is on the banks of the Nile, the river would flooded making the land fertile. In the text it says that " the farmers went to work sowing barley and emmer wheat." Egyptians had to live near the Nile because 90% of Egypt consists of desert. ( Hart 8)
Religion: an example is "many of the Egypt is, in Egypt the people worshupt many gods and goddesses and most of the time it was hard to tell them apart. Each of the 42 administrative districts aka Nomes had its own god and there were many other besides. the grate hawk soring in the sky he was seen as a responibul for all creation." ( hart 24)

Architecture: one example is" Houses in Ancient Egypt were built from bricks made from the Nile mud. The mud was collected in leather buckets and taken to the building site. Here workers added straw and pebbles to the mud to strengthen it and pour the mixture into wooden frames to make bricks. (Hart 46)
Government: one example is "The king was not the only the most powerful and important man in Egypt-he was thought to be a god.He was known as the Pharaoh - a word that derives from a respectful way of referring to the king by describing hi as the "great house"(per-ao) ,meaning the place where he lived. the queen of Egypt could also be seen as a goddess but was usually given the title of "the great royal wife"- only rarely did woman rule over Egypt in there own right. (hart 10)
Art: one example is The gold in Egypt could be molded into different shapes. The jewelers in Egypt were able to get many different stones from a desert. Trade routes brought rare gems to the region such as lapis lazuli. (hart 56)
writing:one example is "Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs.It was deliberately kept complicated so that not too many people could master it and the scribes kept there special position. Ancient China
Location:
on page 38 it said "China is
dominated by two great rivers,the yellow river in northern china and the yangiz in the south." The yellow river results in rich soil. even though the river caused devastating floods. (cotterell 38)
Religion:
on page 12 it says "confucius belived that the early years of the Zhou dynasty 1027-256 B.C. were golden years of social harmony." They worshiped a sacrifical vessel that they used for an ancestor in the early Zhou period."placing inscriptions inside ritual vessels was common practice among Zhou king Wu." (cotterell 12)
Technology:
on page 22 it said " Some of the world's greatest invintions came from China." "Throughout its imperial history,emperors encouraged the development of science and technology, and for centuries china led other nations in these areas." They made paper money,clockwork,silk,porcelain,fireworks,kites,umbrellas,and a wheelbarrow. (cotterell 22)
Commerce(trade):
on page 58 it said "the Mongol emperors ruled china from 1279 to 1368 and permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their vast empire." they traded silver pieces,money shaped like shoes,and coins with a hole in it to tread something through. They controled the silk road and would trade on it a lot. (cotterell 58)
Government:
on page 18 it says "The earliest members of the imperial civil service were recruited by Gaozu (206-195 B.C.), the first Han emperor." Even though Gaozu was uneducated, he still became emperor and overthrew the Qin dynasty in 207 B.C. They ran for over 2,000 years. (cotterell 18)
Writing:
On page 11 it said that "the shang kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits." Oracle bones were used for religious purposes and answered questions. After being scorched, the answers were inscribed on the ox bone or tortoiseshell. (Cotterell 11)
Art:
On page 56 it said they have luxury goods,and formed the major export commodities. "Chinese bronze,jade,silk,lacquer,and porcelain where prized in Asia and Europe." Chinese rulers had a lot and controlled the raw materials and ran the government factories. (cotterell 56)
