Frequency Distributions - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Grouped Frequency Distribution Table presents groups of scores rather than individual scores, making it easier to understand when the dataset covers a wide range of values.
- - - - Histograms: To construct a histogram, place the numerical scores or class intervals along the X-axis and draw a bar for each category, with the height representing its frequency.
      - Polygon: To construct a polygon, list the numerical scores (the categories of measurement) along the X-axis. Dots placed on scores, and dots are connected.
    - - Relative Frequencies: frequencies expressed as percentages/proportions of the total, rather than raw counts, making large data sets easier to interpret and compare.
      - Normal Distribution: symmetrical, with the greatest frequency in the middle and relative frequencies decreasing as you approach either extreme.
  - - - Bar Graph: essentially the same as a histogram, except that spaces are left between adjacent bars.
        
        For a nominal scale, the space between bars emphasizes that the scale consists of separate, distinct categories.
        
        For ordinal scales, separate bars are used because you cannot assume that the categories are all the same size.
- - - - Beside each X value, we indicate the frequency, or the number of times that particular measurement occurred in the data.
      - It is customary to use X as the column heading for the scores and f as the column heading for the frequencies.
