Edmund Burke, he claims that tradition creates a contract between those who are living, those who are dead and those who are yet to be born.
Conservatives believe we should listen to the voices of our ancestors, Chesterton calls this the ‘Democracy of the dead’.
Conservatives view tradition in a darwinian fashion they believe that they see are ideas that have stood the test of time.
We are security seeking individuals this is why we need these institutions that have stood the test of time.

Organic Society
Conservatives view society as a living thing - we all have our living parts within it and cannot exist outside it. The heart cannot exist outside of the body.
Within organic systems there is a natural sense of hierarchy - i.e. the brain is at the top of our system. Nobless Oblige
The new right rejects the idea of being delicate with society, we can be radical and as Thatcher says 'there is no such thing as society'.
Inequality
Conservatives see inequality as natural, those at the top of the system are natural leaders.
Critics of the ideology would argue that this is a way of the rich and powerful maintaining their own power and privilege.
