Political changes
Some middle class liberals supported the tsar again after this
The Tsar limited the Duma's power keeping control for himself
The October manifesto promised a Duma which was a parliament
Peasants and land
Redemption payments were reduced easing some financial pressure
However most peasants still wanted more lands and remained unhappy
The tsar promised to improve conditions for peasants
Workers conditions
Many strikers were crushed by the army and police
Workers anger did not disappear and continued to grow
Some workers gained better pay and hours after striking
Opposition movements
Socialists thought the revolution had failed to change much at all
Revolutionary groups kept planning to overthrow the tsar
Liberals were partly satisfied by the October manifesto
Repression
The Okhrana continued to arrest and punish opponents
Fear kept many people under control but resentment grew
The tsar relied on the army to crush uprisings
