Nationalism
They believed Germany should be united under one strong national identity
They called for the return of lost lands and they rebuilt a powerful army

They promised that if they came to power they would tear up the treaty
To many Germans they treaty symbolised humiliation and weakness so the Nazi message was very popular

They blamed the Jewish people for Germany's defeat in the war and for economic hardship
By using Jewsih people to blame they made anger against them and gained supporters

They linked communism to Jews which caused for hate and suspicion towards them
Hitler promised to destroy communism completely if he gained power
The Nazis saw communism as a dangerous threat to Germany

They opposed modern culture which they saw as corrupt or immoral
They wanted disciplined, obedient and strictly controlled society
