Whirling Bung Experiment
-
Method
Thread the string though the pipe, leaving ample length on both ends for the attachment of the bung and weight.
Attach the weight to one end of the string in a sufficient enough manner that it will be able to withstand the future force and weight that will be applied to it.
Now on the opposite end of the bung with the string still threaded trough the pipe attach the weight on the opposite end the rope.
now carefully with the weight and bung attach on opposite ends of the rope whilst still threaded through the pipe swing the bung around on top having it make a circle.
Now have an observer count the amount of revolutions the bung has completed with a stopwatch. Then when the count has reached ten pause the stopwatch and record the time (T).
Now stop the bung by pinching the end of the sting with the rubber stopper where it meets the pipe, then record distance between the bung and the pipe (r).

Materials
-
Rope or string that will comfortably thread through the pipe, around 50cm in length
-
A weight, that can be attached to opposite end of the string, its weight values does not need to be know but it would support findings

-
-
v= the average velocity that the bung travels throughout the 10 revolutions (unknown- without derivation)
