Definitions of incomes

Rental Income
Definition: is the money you earn from letting someone use property you own — such as a house, apartment, office space, land, or even equipment — in exchange for regular payments.
Example: You lease office space to a small business for $1,200 per month.
Family income
Definition: Includes the income of all members of a family or unrelated people living in the same household.
Example: A couple, the husband earns $60,000 and the wife earns $30,000 → family income = $90,000.
Individual income
Definition: Looks only at what one person earns; usually lower than family income or household income.
Example: A working person earns $40,000/year from a full-time job.
Net income
Example: Salary $80,000 minus $15,000 tax → net income = $65,000.
