Medium of Light
- Optical Medium- Material or non material, through light can pass whole or partially.
Homogeneous -Optical medium which has uniform composition throughout. Eg-Glass, Diamond, Distilled water.
Heterogeneous-Optical medium which has different composition at different point. eg-Air, muddy water, fog,mist.
- Transparent Medium- Allow light energy to pass through. Eg- Glass, Diamond, thin layer of water.
- Translucent Medium-Partially allow light energy to pass through. Eg- muddy water, smoke.
- Opaque body- Do not allow light energy to pass through. Eg- Brick, stione, tree.

Source of light
Luminous Bodies- Emit light by themelves. Eg-sun, stars, insects.
Non-Luminous Bodies- Do not emit light, reflect light energy falling on them. Eg- metal, stone.tree.
Light Energy- Invisible energy, Cause us sensation of vision. Speed of light in air/vaccum= 3 x10 m/s (or) 3 x10 km/s.
