INNER SETTING
-
-
Point of care - Think about all who could be involved in the intervention - front line staff, porters etc
-
-
Data collection
-
Different ways to collect data - tech vs not to reach a wider variety of people/interviews vs surveys
-
-
-
-
-
Closing the loop - people see how they contribute to an "intervention" and may feel more inspired to do more
-
Resources/infrastructure needed (e.g., external consultation could be useful; PE office, research institute)
-
-
IMPLEMENTATION
QI Suggestions
Involve others, not just QI team/everyone is an enabler
-
-
-
Cultural sensitivity
Keep in mind when interpreting and deciding how to act on feedback (References 7-9 - 7.62% Coverage)
-
-
Leverage technology
-
AI for connecting different data, or data points along the patient journey
-
INDIVIDUAL
Those receiving the intervention - how they are affected (e.g., bbq planned during Ramadan)
Don't always go to the same groups (e.g., patient partner groups bc then you keep hearing the same voices)
Don't make assumptions about what they will do or not (e.g., of thinking younger parents would use a QR code when many didn't in the end)
-
Be intentional
personal touch - e.g., talking to patients/caregivers
Data collection doesn't always need to involve the patient (e.g., patient in coma, but may be other data points - caregiver? environment?)
-
Need cohesion across the hospital (e.g., patient receives survey in person and then another later one after discharge - appears disjointed)
-
OUTER SETTING
-
-
System challenges - Funding, policy, PCC not a priority, other priorities (e.g., COVID, flu season, accreditation)
