Close-knit groups
Father was the head of the family
Women were treated with respect and property rights were protected
Wealthy families lived in luxury. Enjoyed outings, fishing, hunting etc
Children were care free. Boys to school and Girls at home

Bread from Wheat and drink from Barley
Also ate vegetables, fruits, meat and dairy products
Dress
White Linen
Men - Loin cloth
Women - Long tight fitting dress with shoulder straps
Everyone wore jewelry. cosmetics and wigs
Occupation
Agriculture was the main occupation
Chief crops - Wheat Barley and millet
Vegetables and fruits like dates, figs, apples and peaches
Domestication of Animals
Cows, sheep, goat, donkeys, camels. Birds - doves, geese
Art and Craft
Skilled and hardworking
potters. goldsmiths, carpenters, weavers, sculptors & painters
Built lots of temples and pillared halls. decorated with paintings
Medicine
Mummification, Embalming
Trade
Both - land (camels & Donkeys) and Sea (boats and barges)
Built seafaring ships
Bater system - grain, silver and cooper were used.
Writing
Hieroglyphic script
2000 picture signs, using objects and creatures
later simplified to 24 consonants
Religion
Many gods and goddess (nature)
Ra - Sun god
Osiris - God of Dead
