Facts/Characteristics: Uses a morphological approach, teaching students to analyze the word for a Latin or Greek root or stem, suffixes, prefixes, etc. to determine their meanings alone to build meaning for the bigger word.

Polysyllabic Words
Definition: Words that are comprised of multiple syllables, or units of meaning.
Facts/Characteristics: These words are longer, more complex, often found in academic vocabulary, and are comprised of a prefix, suffix, and root.

Non Examples: Multisyllabic words that contain only a prefix or suffix with a root word, such as unhappy, distaste, happiness, etc.
