AV Brief Ideas (Revised)
More relaxed/happy
Instead of going for a depressing, Fight Club vibe, I want to do something more laid back and take advantage of the nice weather of the summer.

No Band
As I have only one actor (James Wise), it makes much more sense to create the persona of a solo musician/artist, rather than trying to create a whole band out of nowhere.
the ballads I am looking at also tend to be made by solo artists, like Bon Iver.
Brief
You work for an independent media production company. You have been given the task of producing a three-minute music video for a popular music ballad by a fictional band/artist signed to Warner Music Group and two pages for the working website for the band/artist.
-
Target audience: A primarily 16–25 year old middle and up market audience of style-conscious people - this indicates highly stylised visuals.
The web pages must promote the band/artist to its target audience and enable fans to interact with them.
-
Hozier, "Cherry Wine" (Live)
-
-
has the absurdism, random concepts that I want
-
Themes: love, contradiction, vulnerability
-
Ben Howard, "Promise"
-
Themes: futility, beauty, letting go
Visual potential in sea/water motifs, abstract overlays like dust, waves, flickers of memory
-
Bon Iver, "Re: Stacks"
-
Fits the ballad brief as well as my things: dreamy, introspective, indie-iconic
the lyrics are vague enough for symbolic or abstract visuals, works well with “floating” drawings or highlighted internal monologue to convey ideas - like the bastille song "glory" I analysed.
