🌱 Stage 1: Foundation (Weeks 1–4)
Goal: Get familiar with basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure.
Daily Plan (30 minutes):
🔤 Vocabulary (5 mins): Use flashcards (Quizlet/Anki) for:
Greetings, numbers, days, colors, family
📚 Grammar (10 mins):
Learn subject pronouns (yo, tú, él...)
Verb ser and estar (to be)
Present tense of common verbs (hablar, tener, ir)
🎧 Listening (5 mins):
Watch beginner YouTube channels like SpanishPod101 or Dreaming Spanish (use subtitles)
✍️ Writing (5 mins):
Write 3–5 short sentences about yourself daily
📙 Textbook
Use “Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Verb Tenses” or “Easy Spanish Step-by-Step”
📈 Stage 2: Building Core Skills (Weeks 5–12)
Goal: Start forming simple conversations and understand more grammar.
Focus Topics:
Regular & irregular verbs (present tense)
Articles, gender of nouns, adjective agreement
Question words (¿Qué?, ¿Dónde?, ¿Por qué?)
Essential phrases for conversation
Daily Plan:
Keep same structure, now increasing listening and writing to 10 minutes each
Start watching slow Spanish short stories or beginner podcasts (Coffee Break Spanish)
Optional:
Shadowing: repeat after native speakers from YouTube clips
Language exchange app (HelloTalk or Tandem)
🧠 Stage 3: Conversational Practice (Month 4–6)
Goal: Gain confidence in speaking & understand both Latin American and Spain accents.
Add:
Listening Variety: Mix Latin American and Spain content (songs, vlogs, podcasts)
Speaking Practice: Talk to yourself, record short audio, or try a tutor once a week (iTalki or free exchange)
Writing Practice: Keep a short journal in Spanish (e.g., “Today I feel... I did...”)
🗣️ Stage 4: Real Use & Refinement (After 6 Months)
Goal: Handle everyday conversations smoothly and start expressing more complex ideas.
Tips:
Watch full Spanish shows with subtitles (Extra en Español is great for learners)
Learn past and future tense (pretérito, futuro)
Engage in mini conversations with AI (like me 😉), apps, or real partners
