Students use social media and technology a lot but aren’t taught how to use it wisely.
Many teachers struggle with tech → hard for them to guide students.
No national digital literacy curriculum exists yet.
Real example: students tend to easily trust everything online, or don't know how to search and find trustful information
What happens when we ignore digital literacy?
Misinformation spreads easily: students can't tell fact from fake.
Online safety risks: data leaks, cyberbullying, scams.
Passive mindset: students become copy-pasters instead of critical thinkers.
Creativity is stifled: students don’t know how to express ideas through digital tools effectively.
What can we do? – A call for educational change
Teach students how to use apps to improve in researching, also how to use required certain apps in college like ppt, excel,..
Offer training for teachers, so they can guide students properly.
Encourage collaborative digital learning spaces (e.g. class wikis, blogs, or shared Google Docs).
