Classroom Cue: "Affix it to the front of back. Like stickers, prefixes go first, suffixes go last."
-
Bias
-
Example: a teacher gives boys more attention than girls in science class because she believes boys are better at science.
Non-example: a teacher uses a random name generator to call on students equally. That's unbiased and fair.
Classroom cue: "Bias is when our brain picks favorites; even if its not fair." *point to head (thoughts) then to your heart (feelings), showing how bias can be automatic not and not emotional.
