A figure of speech that compares two different things in an interesting way.
Example: Time is money.

This is a question asked for effect, not because you want an answer.
Example: What's more valuable than freedom?
Foreshadowing
An advance warning about something that is going to happen in the future.
Example: "I will talk about this more in chapter 2".
