Art Opens Conversations
Identity
Creativity is powerful – I believe expressing myself through art is a way to understand who I am and how I feel.
Everyone deserves a voice – I value freedom of expression and think all people should be able to share their story.
Culture shapes identity – I believe where I come from and my background play a huge role in who I am today.
Growth matters more than perfection – I value learning, improving, and being open to change over always getting things “right.”
Kindness and empathy – I believe in treating others with understanding and respect, even when we’re different.
Individuality is important – I value being myself, even if I don’t always fit in with everyone else.
Balance between tradition and change – I believe it’s important to respect the past but also to question and grow from it.

Who am I?
I lived in Malaysia for 10 years, which shaped a lot of my childhood.
I currently live in Japan, where I’m reconnecting with part of my culture.
I grew up with multiple cultures, which makes my identity rich and layered.
I can understand different ways of thinking and living, because of my background.
My identity is a mix of language, tradition, food, values, and experiences.

Life Experiences
I have traveled to many countries, which taught me to appreciate different cultures.
I’ve tried lots of different foods from around the world, and food is a big part of how I experience new places.
I moved between countries, like from Malaysia to Japan, which helped me learn to adapt quickly.
I grew up in multicultural environments, which made me open-minded and curious.
I have cats, and they’ve taught me love, patience, and comfort in small things.

Social Issues
I believe everyone deserves to be treated fairly, no matter their background, beliefs, or personality. Fairness is important to me because I’ve seen how easily people get excluded or judged for small differences.
Inclusion matters because no one should feel left out in a group or environment where everyone should feel safe. I think schools, communities, and society in general should do more to make sure people are welcomed and respected.
I care about mental health and emotional safety. People should be allowed to feel how they feel without being called weak or dramatic. There should be more open conversations and less judgment.
I support the rights of animals because they can't speak for themselves. I think it’s important that animals are treated kindly and not abused, neglected, or used just for profit.
I believe in freedom of expression. People should be allowed to express themselves through art, words, clothing, or lifestyle without being criticized or told to “act normal.”
I think young people should be taken seriously when it comes to social issues. Our opinions and experiences are valid, and we notice unfairness just as much as adults do.
