Water on the land and where it drains and pools affects the plants which can be grown. Fruit trees do not like wet feet

Planting takes a massive amount of time, as does maintenance

Need to take into account cover crops ot suppress weeds, and possibly layering with cardboard to crush out grasses before growing the food garden

I would also want to plant certain grasses like wildrye since they provide nesting and cover for wildlife
We live in a place that is winter at least as often as it is not, so some plants such as juniper or dune pepper could be planted to provide foraging in the winter as well
