Contact Forces in x, y, z direction
with respect to/defined in the Load KS
applied on the Head RP which is kinematically coupled to the inner surfqace of the Konus of the head implant

BCs
-
Glenoid Bc: Encastre was applied to the Glenoid RP
Which is kinematically coupled to the back of the glenoid.
this was applied to the glenoid implant at all steps
Translation Bc: This is of type Displacement/Rotation and was used to translate the Head implant toward the glenoid in U3 which is Z or compression along mediolateral direction
to initiate the first contact.
this is not applied on the initial step and applied first at the contact generation step with value of 2 Micro meter and a ramp amplitude.
Rotation Bc: The translation Bc which was initiated in the contact generation step was then modified in the loading step. In this step no translation is applied anymore. Instead a quasi-static abduction degree is applied on the head implant to rotate around the x-axis (UR1) of Load KS

Coordinate system
IGES imported, Showing the position of the loading coordinate systems with respect to the implant components. Not used in the simulation. Later a Rp is defined on top of its origin to apply the loadings from HIL/MKS

Constraints
Glenoid
Couples the Glenoid RP to the back surface of the glenoid throu a kinematic coupling in all directions
Head
Couples the Head RP to the Inside surface of the head Konus where the load has to be applied
Loads
-
Only applied in the loading step
Defined with respect to the Load KS
Static, general, Concentrated force
-
Steps
3 Steps are used
-
Contact creation
Static General, NlGeom on. time period 1 sec is created to initiate the contact between the implants
Loading
Static General, NlGeom on. time period 6.8 sec is created to initiate apply load on the head
